Simple DIY Project using your home inkjet or laser printer

Follow these printing steps

Before you print actual paper - it s always a good idea to cut some regular paper to size and test it in your printer using the directions below.  You can get individual sheets of larger paper to cut down at most any local copy shop - also a handy place for custom cutting large amounts of paper to size quickly and professionally usually at a minimal cost.

• Locate your template located on the product page and click the link to dowload the free Microsoft Word Doc. (Once downloaded, you can open in the Open Office program as well.

• The templates are pre-sized to the corresponding invitation, envelope, program, placecard paper dimensions.  Confirm the size and layout within Microsoft Word - depending on the version of Word you have - either click File>Page Setup or Page Layout>Size>More Paper sizes and this will show the length, width and printing orientation either landscape or portrait.  WRITE THESE DIMENSIONS DOWN

• The templates contain sample wording which you can easily replace in Word changing ink color, typestyle and spacing.  You can find 1000's of free wording samples for every occasion at verseit.com

• Insert the paper into the printer with the short edge of the paper going into the printer and make sure the adjustable paper guides are cinched snug.

• Next, in Microsoft Word click File then Print.  A popup printing toolbox will appear, and from that you want to select the Paper Size.  Depending on your version click Paper Size or Page Size and enter the paper dimensions you wrote down in the above step. Width and Height

• Select the Paper Orientation - Portrait - tall and thin or Landscape with printing going the long dimension of the paper

• Some printers will let you choose the Paper or Media Type - Choose the one closest to your paper and err on the heavier side as these papers are thicker than standard printing paper.

• CLICK OK and PRINT
